Go Within & Rediscover Your Freedom of Movement

Gentle somatic movement to release chronic pain, calm your nervous system, and bring you back to your natural state of embodied awareness.

The Inner Sense Approach

At Inner Sense Somatics, we guide you back to your body's innate wisdom through gentle, mindful movement patterns that reawaken your internal sensing capabilities. This process releases chronic tension, improves mobility, and restores your connection with your body's sophisticated sensory network.

Somatic movement is not another exercise program. It's a neuromuscular re-education process that helps you regain voluntary control of muscles while simultaneously enhancing your ability to sense and feel from within. By working directly with your nervous system rather than forcing your body, these subtle techniques create lasting change where other approaches often fall short.

Through slow, conscious movements and awareness practices, you'll:

  • Reawaken your body's internal sensing mechanisms

  • Release long-held muscle tension at its neurological source

  • Alleviate chronic pain and postural issues by restoring sensory feedback

  • Increase mobility and flexibility without stretching

  • Calm your nervous system and reduce anxiety through enhanced bodily awareness

  • Develop a profound sense of embodied presence in your daily life

Understanding Why We Get Stuck

Throughout life, our nervous system responds to stress, trauma, and repetitive movements by tightening specific muscle groups. Over time, these protective patterns become so deeply learned that we lose conscious awareness and control of these muscles - a condition called Sensory Motor Amnesia.

This isn't just about tight muscles. It's about a dulling of your inner senses and your body's ability to feel and respond appropriately. When internal sensing diminishes, we become disconnected observers of our bodies rather than integrated participants. This unconscious holding creates three common reflex patterns:

The Red Light Withdrawal Response: When facing emotional stress or anxiety, muscles across the front of your body contract, pulling you forward into a protective posture. This often leads to rounded shoulders, shallow breathing, and a dulled sense of your body's center.

The Green Light Action Response: When constantly pushing through life's demands, the back muscles remain chronically engaged, creating an arched lower back while numbing your internal sensory feedback about tension and effort.

The Trauma Reflex Response: Following injury or uneven movement habits, muscles on one side of the body contract, creating rotation and imbalance that disrupts your body's capacity for balanced internal sensing.

These reflexes aren't just physical. They influence how you feel emotionally, how you process sensory information, and how present you are in your daily life. By addressing these patterns at their neurological source, Inner Sense Somatics helps you reawaken not just movement freedom but also the rich sensory experience of being fully embodied.
